Available works can be found in the foundation's database. 
Tick “Vis disponible værker” and use the search field to search for a specific artist or title. 

Who can apply?

  • International art museums can apply for donations of works by Danish artists.
  • Danish museums – primarily art museums – can apply for donations of works by Danish and international artists.

Application deadline

There are five annual deadlines in 2026.

Application process

  1. Submit the application through the foundation’s online application system.
  2. The board assesses the application which is then either approved (yielding partial or full support) or declined.
  3. Notification on the result is given through the online application system.

Application category

Art for museums – donations of art works from the foundation's holdings.

Criteria

The work(s) applied for must be significant and contribute significantly and relevantly to the museum’s collection.

What does the grant cover?

Applicants can apply for a donation of works of art aquired by the foundation. 
The foundation also covers the expenses for any necessary conservation work required prior to the handover.

The foundation does not support costs for shipping and insurance in connection with the handover, either in Denmark or abroad.

The application must include

Applications that do not meet the requirements below will not be considered.

  • One single pdf-file
    All application material must be compiled and submitted as one single PDF file of no more than 5 pages.

The (max.) 5 pages must include:

  • Work details: artist, title, year
  • Photo of the work
  • Statement on how the work contributes to the museum’s collection and acquisition policy (max. 1 page)
  • Statement on the work’s place and significance within the artist’s practice and production (max. 1 page)
  • If applying for several works: a prioritised list
