The New Carlsberg Foundation supports the publication of foreign art publications on Danish art, including exhibition catalogues and monographs, in order to strengthen the visibility and spread of Danish art outside Denmark’s borders.

The New Carlsberg Foundation endeavours to have the range of supported publications reflect great breadth and diversity in terms of the artists presented, media, perspectives, periods, geography, gender, art forms, etc.

Who can apply?

Museums, art centres, publishers, artists and others who publish publications outside of Denmark about Danish art.

Application deadline

Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis. For specific deadlines, see under ‘Deadlines and meetings’.

Application process

  1. An application for support is submitted through the foundation’s online application system.
  2. The New Carlsberg Foundation’s board assesses the applications received. The applications are either approved (yielding partial or full support) or declined.

If the publication is published under the auspices of an institution, the application must be submitted by the head of said institution.
