Cathrine Raben Davidsen’s three large pictures inside the District Court of Copenhagen appear as cracks that offer glimpses of a different world, far from the strict exactitude of law.

Ragna Braase took an experimental approach to weaving. Her piece Douar – Det sorte telt (Douar – The Black Tent) demonstrates her sublime technical mastery and exemplifies her reinterpretation of the textile medium. With support from the New Carlsberg Foundation, Horsens Art Museum now adds the piece to its collection.

Mille Kalsmose brings outer space down to earth with her sound installation Cosmic Family. Kunsten Museum of Modern Art in Aalborg recently added the both poetic and unsettling piece to its collection thanks to a donation from the New Carlsberg Foundation.

The town of Sjørring is now home to a remarkable landmark. Ingvar Cronhammar has created a monumental public artwork for the small town in Thy in northern Jutland, made possible by a grant from the New Carlsberg Foundation.

The Danish sculptor Karin Lorentzen has taken an almost archaeological approach to local history and geography in her creation of a new water feature for the old city square in the town of Lemvig in northern Jutland. The piece, which is titled Iris, was realized with support from the New Carlsberg Foundation.

Joachim Koester’s early principal piece Day for Night is now part of HEART’s collection thanks to a donation from the New Carlsberg Foundation.

The acclaimed artist Pipilotti Rist has created her biggest permanent video installation ever. The installation was unveiled at DMJX, the Danish School of Media and Journalism, where it will be illuminating surfaces, interiors and students, thanks to funding from Obel Family Foundation, Salling Foundations, Spar Nord Foundation, Beckett Foundation, the Danish Arts Foundation, FEAS and the New Carlsberg Foundation.

A rare topic in Danish Golden Age art is now being added to the collection at Øregaard Museum thanks to funding from Aage and Johanne Louis-Hansen’s Foundation, Friends of Øregaard Museum and the New Carlsberg Foundation.

The exhibition in the Danish Pavilion at the Architecture Biennale in Venice is going to focus on the notion of connectedness. In collaboration with Lundgaard & Tranberg Architects, the art historian and curator Marianne Krogh is creating the exhibition ‘con-nect-ed-ness’ based on the overarching theme of the biennale: How will we live together? Already now, a thought-provoking anthology with a stellar line-up of contributors from Denmark and abroad and edited by Krogh is published with support from the New Carlsberg Foundation.

Nudes, Søren Kierkegaard and landscape studies are among the unique drawings from the Golden Age of Danish art that SMK, the National Gallery of Denmark, recently added to the Royal Collection of Graphic Art thanks to a donation from the New Carlsberg Foundation.

With the installation About: The Blank Pages Ditte Ejlerskov and EvaMarie Lindahl call out the popular publishing house Taschen’s underrepresentation of women in art. With support from the New Carlsberg Foundation, the Arken Museum of Modern Art can now add this work of art to its collection.

The Royal Danish Library has purchased the video installation Black is a Beautiful Word. I & I by the artist Jeannette Ehlers. The installation is a donation from the New Carlsberg Foundation and will be part of the permanent collection at Den Nationale Fotosamling (The National Photography Collection) as a current commentary on historical portrait photography.

In 1835, in a rocky cave outside Rome, Martinus Rørbye observes how sunbeams fall through the mouth of the cave and strike the rough surface of the rock. He captures the scene in the painting Scene from a rocky cave, Cervara, which Ribe Art Museum recently purchased with support from the Augustinus Foundation and the New Carlsberg Foundation.

An outstanding collection of more than 600 works by the Danish-Greenlandic artist Anne-Birthe Hove has been secured for the future National Gallery of Art in Greenland, thanks to a donation from the New Carlsberg Foundation.

Distinctive and sophisticated installation by Jesper Just has now been added to the collection of Danish and international contemporary art at SMK – National Gallery of Denmark. In Circuit (Interpassivities) Just brings a variety of materialities into play: solid concrete blocks are contrasted by a video showing close-ups of ballet dancers. Warm, soft skin meets electric cords and grey rectangular wall to the sound of August Rosenbaum’s piano improvisations. The acquisition was made possible by a donation from the New Carlsberg Foundation.

The British-Japanese artist Simon Fujiwara creates thought-provoking and complex total installations that examine our current focus on identity, honesty and self-representation. On of the artist’s principal works is now being added to ARKEN’s collection, based on a donation from the New Carlsberg Foundation.
