HORNY VACUUM

Lea Porsager Horny Vacuum

Lea Porsager’s work HORNY VACUUM is an artistic abstraction on the enigmatic natural phenomenon of the intangible neutrino particle. With support from the New Carlsberg Foundation, the Museum of Contemporary Art in the Danish city of Roskilde has now acquired the piece for its collection. From 24 September it is on display at the museum in Porsager’s solo exhibition [WEAK] FORCE.

A Winter Night at Kunsten

Julie Nord en vinternat Kunsten

Julie Nord’s free-wheeling fantastical pictorial narratives with their abundant ornamentation are a celebration of the non-rational and quirky. They rattle our notion of the familiar world and bring a sinister feel to the places where we feel most safe and secure. With support from the New Carlsberg Foundation, Kunsten Museum of Modern Art Aalborg now adds Nord’s principal work A Winter Night to its collection.

Revitalizing the red bricks

Amalie Jakobsen Næstved Gymnasium

Four ceramic works, two paintings and a sculpture in painted steel. The two Danish artists Anna Sørensen and Amalie Jakobsen have created site-specific pieces for the upper secondary school Næstved Gymnasium & HF. The decorative project was made possible by a grant from the New Carlsberg Foundation.

GLOBAL WARNING / GLOBAL WARMING

Per Arnoldi - Global Warning

Per Arnoldi’s artistic climate comment will appear in outdoor advertising spaces in the City of New York in connection with the opening of the United Nations’ General Assembly in September. It is estimated that the art campaign will have more than 17 million views. The Danish artist has further created a website where anyone can download his artistic climate warning.

Say it with flowers

Johan Laurentz Jensen Opstilling med blomster

Johan Laurentz Jensen was the leading flower painter of the golden age of Danish art. He portrayed the contemporary perception of nature and cultural ideals in complex still lifes. With support from the New Carlsberg Foundation, Øregaard Museum can now add his 1838 painting Colourful bouquet of flowers in a Greek vase on a stone ledge with shells to its collection.

Science Tower with Danish contemporary art

Marie Lund Mærsk Tårnet

Five copper sculptures by the Danish artist Marie Lund are now mounted on a concrete frieze in the canteen of the Maersk Tower. With a donation from the New Carlsberg Foundation, works by 17 Danish contemporary artists, distributed across 15 floors, have been selected for a large decorative project in the new building.

Sonic

Thilo Frank Sonic

The internationally acclaimed German artist Thilo Frank has created a large decorative project at Dansekapellet (the Dance Chapel) at Bispebjerg. The New Carlsberg Foundation donated the site-specific work of art, to be unveiled on 31 August, and which establishes an original connection between Dansekapellet and everyday life in the nearby urban space.
