In cooperation with DIS/PLAY, the New Carlsberg Foundation has developed a new website, which is accompanied by a new graphic design, including a new logo, designed by Kontrapunkt.
These initiatives are part of our effort, in the service of the arts, to promote the awareness of art and art research and to develop and satisfy the understanding of and need for art in Denmark. We aim for the foundation to be a dynamo in Danish arts to the benefit of society at large. This ambition of working in the service of the arts, with dedication and humility, has guided both the new design and the new website.
The website is divided into four main sections: ‘About the foundation’, ‘News’, ‘Grants’ and ‘Applications’. Key attention is devoted to the foundation’s core purpose: the grants we approve at our board meetings, which take place approximately every three weeks. The Art Database has references to all the works of art, decorative projects and publications that the foundation has supported over the decades; about 17,000 in total.
Under ‘Focus’ we offer more in-depth coverage of selected donations in text and images.
Under ‘Applications’ you will see that we have no formalized application form nor specific application deadlines, as the applications we receive are reviewed on an ongoing basis. We hope that the guidelines posted here will help prospective applicants find the answers to their questions before preparing and submitting their applications.
Welcome to our new website!
Karsten Ohrt,
Chairman of the New Carlsberg Foundation
