Stine Høholt is chief curator at ARKEN Museum of Modern Art in Ishøj, which she initially joined as a curator in 1999. Since 2005 she has been head of the ARKEN’s Art department and spearheaded some of the museum’s major initiatives within exhibitions and research. Stine Høholt has been chief curator on exhibitions with Frida Kahlo, Asger Jorn, Olafur Eliasson, Randi & Katrine and Niki de Saint-Phalle, among others. From her work at ARKEN Stine Høholt brings considerable experience and competence regarding contemporary art, research, art communication and museum development. She has also served as an appointed expert for the Nordic Culture Fund and on a number of councils and committees, including the Research Board at The Danish Design School (now Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Design).
In 2006 she earned her PhD degree at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Schools of Architecture, Design and Conservation with her thesis Easier Living? about American design and the dream about frictionless everyday life.
Replacing Christine Buhl Andersen, who takes over as director of Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek on 1 March, Stine Høholt joins the two other board members for the New Carlsberg Foundation: Professor Morten Kyndrup and Karsten Ohrt, who is chairman of the board.
The chairman of the board for the Carlsberg Foundation, which appoints the board members for the New Carlsberg Foundation, Professor Flemming Besenbacher, says about Stine Høholt:

She is held in high esteem as a knowledgeable and industrious professional, and with her far-flung national and international network and broad outlook, she is going to be a very valuable board member for the New Carlsberg Foundation.’
Stine Høholt was born in 1972 and has an entry the Danish Who’s Who, Blå Bog. She lives in Frederiksberg and is married to literature critic Tue Andersen Nexø, with whom she has nine-year-old twins.
The purpose of the New Carlsberg Foundation is to support Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek and other Danish art museums, to promote the awareness of art and art research and to develop and satisfy the understanding of and need for art in Denmark.
